Boulevard Aces lowrider car club does
it for the hood.
Dallas/Ft. Worth-based Boulevard Aces
Lowrider Car Club has a simple mantra when it comes to tricking
out low-lows: If you want your whip tight, do it ya damn self.
“Our members are all passionate about building lowriders;
that’s something that you must have,” says club founder
Ernest Garza, who rides out in a ’94 Cadillac Brougham with
14X6 reverse gangster wire wheels and custom extended skirts.
“We have a network of shops and members who do different
customizations.”
For his part, Garza contributes to the
clubs’ line of custom early ’60s two-door Impalas, newer
big-body Cadillacs and older ’50s Bombs by making car club
plaques and custom steering wheels. Other members of the club
handle an array of custom work, such as paint, hydraulics and
interiors, that keeps this crew stuntin’ for car shows and
ridin’ three-wheel motions ’til their collective asses
scrape.
“We’re always going to be
competitive on the street scene,” says Garza. “We have some
of the cleanest lowriders in the game.”
A car aficionado’s definition of the
perfect car club depends as much on the kind of people in it, as
on what kind of cars that dominate its roster. Garza started the
club in 2002 with the help of seven of his closest friends and
built the clubs’ roster with like-minded car junkies dedicated
to building lowriders that bounce and break with the best of
them and helping the community.
“We participate in all the local car
shows, but we are very much involved in the community,” says
Garza. “We host ‘Toys for Tots’ and other fundraising
activities. We are all about helping the community because this
is where we live, and ride.”
